A recent publication by the United Kingdom Public Health Department confirms that e-cigarettes are significantly less harmful than regular cigarettes and can help quit smoking.
According to the research conducted by independent health experts, it is estimated that e-cigarettes can be up to 95% less harmful than regular cigarettes.
The main concern raised by the study is that nearly half UK’s population doesn’t realize e-cigarettes are much less harmful than smoking, and this may be keeping millions of smokers from quitting.
“E-cigarettes could be a game changer in public health in particular by reducing the enormous health inequalities caused by smoking.”
— Professor Ann McNeill, King’s College London and independent author of the publication
The review also affirmed that contrary to what has been published before, this study also states that there is no evidence that e-cigarettes are acting as a route into smoking for children or non-smokers.
